Jim Gorham was born June 25, 1936 in the Hazel Dell Community near Minco, OK. He passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 in Clinton, OK at the age of 81. Jim attended Hinton Schools before enlisting in the US Navy where he served his country from 1956-1976. He served in the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic and later served as a recruiter. He retired and returned to Hinton working 20 years as an operator for Caddo County District 1. Jim married Mary Ware on July 14, 1990 in Wichita Falls, TX. Jim enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, fishing, and reading his Bible. He loved teaching the kids, grandchildren, and family how to shoot, hunt, and fish. He was really famous for his barbeque sauce and cooking for family. He lived his life with Honor, Courage and Commitment.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Gorham of the home in Hinton, OK; two daughters, Kaye Hale and her husband Byron and Marysa Mincks and her husband Lon all of Edmond, OK; grandsons, Trevor Hale and Tanner Hale both of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many very special friends including Jim's best friend David Palmisano.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Logan and Blanche Gorham; and siblings, Virgil, Cody, and John Gorham, Emma Jester, Alma Friedlan, June Bartlett, and Quanah Holkum.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Hinton Cemetery, Saturday, 7:30 pm, June 30, 2018, Hinton, OK. Officiating: Chaplains Mike and Freddi Booth services entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, Oklahoma.
