Real-IDs Now Being Issued

OKLAHOMA – The Hinton office of the Department of Public Safety – commonly referred to as the drivers’ license bureau – is now issuing Real IDs. Its hours are 8 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. and appointments are strongly recommended. Those can be made at apps.ok.gov/dps/exam/sched uler/index or by calling (405) 425-2020.

Hinton Students Go BACK-TO-SCHOOL

Hinton Public Schools returned to learn Aug. 13. Students have the option of attending in person or online. Either way, the students are able to have breakfast and lunch. Parents may call the school and make arrangements to pick up meals for virtual students, while in person learners can get their meals at any of the three campuses. The administration asks that parents fill out a free or reduced meal application for their children, even if they don’t think they will qualify. OKLAHOMA – When the Caddo County Commission met Aug. 10 in regular session, one of the commissioners, Benny Bowling, attended by teleconference. That option may become more appealing as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to hold the county in its grips.

Oklahoma Sees 7,457 Active Coronavirus Cases

CADDO COUNTY – In Caddo County, the state recognizes 74 active cases, while the Caddo County Sheriff’s office shows 89 active cases. The SO breakdown includes six new cases as of Monday, Aug. 17, all in Anadarko. That brings the active case number in that town to 49, with four in Apache, five in Carnegie, one in Cement, seven in Cyril, two in Ft. Cobb, six in Gracemont, 11 in Hinton, seven being in the prison, two cases active in Hydro and two in Minco. Six cases were declared inactive in this report as well.

OKLAHOMA - Oklahoma gas prices have fallen 3.0 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.82/g today, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 2,294 stations. Gas prices in Oklahoma are 4.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 52.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
