Hinton Teachers Take the Plunge

They called it, “freezin’ for a reason.”

Others called it a crazy way to make money, but the organizers of Special Olympics in Weatherford called it the Annual Polar Plunge. Three brave Hinton High School personnel took a “plunge” into a tub of water in sub-freezing temperatures and snow to raise money for Oklahoma Special Olympic Athletes.

Hinton Principal Rennie Nickell and high school teachers Jarrod Hohmann and Ethan Meriwether participated in the Oklahoma Special Olympics “Polar Plunge” last Saturday, February 10, in Weatherford.

The three hearty individuals were the first ones from Hinton to participate the 3rd-Annual Polar Plunge at the Kiwanis Baseball Complex. “I got them to do it,” said Hinton Special Education Teacher Carla Chenoweth.
