Morning Dew, Evening Tears

The day started off like any other early September day in Northeast Ohio - the morning dew still lingered on the grass and cars around town.

At the time, I was a junior at Strongsville Sr. High School, which is located about 20 minutes southwest of Cleveland, Ohio. I was between my second and third period classes and walking in the hallway when I overheard someone walking near me say, “A plane hit a building in New York City.” Just thinking back to that moment makes me sick to my stomach.
